Job Description:

Job title: Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer

Location: Coventry. This is an onsite position.

What you’ll be doing:

Joining a newly formed Mechanical Engineering team in Coventry, supporting the design and development of systems for Nuclear Submarines, including the SSN AUKUS.

• Lead and develop mechanical engineering systems, equipment, and components.
• Build relationships with suppliers to meet specifications and demands.
• Work with the customer to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios.
• Perform and review engineering calculations to demonstrate system performance.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to solve engineering problems and make decisions.

Your skills and experiences:

• Background in Rotator Machinery, Components, or Fluid Dynamics.
• Experience in applying mechanical engineering across product lifecycle stages.
• Ability to prioritize and work well in a team.
• Passion for problem solving and complex calculations.
• Degree in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects.
• Leadership and mentoring experience.
