Job summary

Arden White Aerospace and Aviation Recruitment is recruiting a Senior Principal Software Engineer for a leading global engineering organisation. You will lead the architecture and definition of real-time embedded software for safety-critical applications, shaping technical strategy and driving high-integrity solutions.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate across disciplines, and ensure software is developed to DO-178C and related safety standards throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Significant commercial embedded software experience in C/C++.
• Strong real-time embedded systems background.
• Experience defining software architecture and technical strategy.
• Experience in safety critical or highly regulated engineering environments.
• Strong knowledge of DO-178C and software certification lifecycle.
• Deterministic and fault-tolerant software design experience.
• Technical leadership, mentoring or engineering management experience.
• Knowledge of software verification and validation methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Lead software architecture and technical direction for complex embedded projects.
• Design, develop and maintain real-time embedded software in C/C++.
• Develop software for advanced control and actuation systems.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware and verification engineers for integration.
• Ensure DO-178C and safety standards compliance.
• Lead software verification, validation and integration activities.
• Promote engineering best practices across the SDLC.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to teams.
• Contribute to reviews and key engineering decisions.
• Deliver high-integrity, mission-critical software solutions.
