Job summary

Inspired Recruitment is seeking an experienced real-time safety critical software engineer for a Cheltenham-based role. On-site 3 days per week, you will lead the DO-178C level A program, deriving requirements, authoring designs, implementing safety-critical software, and validating the system.

You will work across hardware, systems, and test engineering to ensure full traceability, rigorous testing, and quality assurance throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in bare-metal real-time embedded C development.
• In-depth knowledge of DO-178C Level A standards and documentation.
• Experience with safety-critical systems and MCDC testing.

Responsibilities

• Derive high and low level requirements.
• Author the software design.
• Implement safety critical software for an embedded modular platform.
• Test and validate the solution.
• Conduct design and code reviews.
• Collaborate with hardware, systems, and test engineering for integration.
