Job summary

European Tech Recruit is seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal CPU Architect to shape the next generation of high-performance CPU architectures in Cambridge, UK. This strategic individual-contributor role focuses on long-term ISA development, advanced microarchitecture, workload analysis and hardware/software co-design.

You will guide architecture decisions for future CPUs, work with compiler, OS and application teams, and contribute to roadmaps for generational advances in performance,

Qualifications

• Extensive industry experience in high-performance CPU architecture.
• Deep understanding of out-of-order execution, branch prediction, caches and coherency.
• Experience with x86, Arm and/or RISC-V.
• MS or PhD in Computer Engineering, CS, Electrical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural pathfinding for next-generation CPU designs.
• Define microarchitectural concepts across pipelines and memory hierarchies.
• Develop cycle-accurate CPU simulation models using C/C++/Python.
• Collaborate with compiler, OS and application teams on HW/SW co-design.
