Job summary

Mills & Reeve LLP is seeking an Associate/Senior or Principal Associate to join our Contentious Data Protection & Information Governance team. You will work closely with a collaborative group handling practical GDPR and DPA matters, DSARs, and data breach responses in challenging situations.

We welcome both solicitors with 1–8 years' PQE and non-qualified professionals with hands-on DSAR/FOIA experience. The role offers a supportive environment, opportunities for growth, and exposure to ICO

Qualifications

• Practical GDPR and Data Protection Act knowledge.
• Experience handling DSARs and FOIA requests.
• Ability to respond to data breaches and investigations.
• Experience with ICO investigations or First-tier Tribunal helpful.

Responsibilities

• Manage DSAR strategy, exemptions, and timelines.
• Assist with ICO investigations and regulatory correspondence.
• Advise on third-party data requests and data handling.
• Support litigation arising from data breaches and pre-action steps.
• Provide pragmatic, solutions-focused advice in sensitive matters.
