Job summary

Arup is seeking a Senior or Principal Engineer to join the Cardiff Building Engineering team. You will lead electrical building services design across varied projects, coordinating multi-disciplinary work and guiding junior engineers.

The role requires strong client engagement, robust technical approaches and the ability to manage resources and commercial performance. You will contribute to bids and help drive the digital evolution within a collaborative, flexible environment that values

Qualifications

• Hold a degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and achieve Chartered Engineer status.
• Proven track record delivering diverse projects with technical leadership.
• Demonstrate ability to lead multi-disciplinary design teams and manage client engagement.
• Provide leadership in sustainable building design and compliance with energy/environmental standards.
• Experience supervising teams, mentoring colleagues and contributing to bids.

Responsibilities

• Lead spatial and technical coordination across projects.
• Produce engineering designs and specifications for electrical building services.
• Supervise multidisciplinary work and coordinate with external sub-consultants.
• Mentor colleagues and support design teams through multiple phases.
• Contribute to bids and manage project resourcing and commercial performance.
