Qualifications

• 14+ years in software or ML engineering and 2+ years building production LLM/agentic AI systems.
• Proven track record of scalable, production-grade AI systems across multiple products.
• Deep knowledge of LLM internals, training, tuning and inference optimization.

Responsibilities

• Set AI technical vision and multi-year roadmap for LLM and agentic systems.
• Define company-wide model strategy including when to use frontier/open-source models and fine-tuning approaches.
• Lead complex initiatives across teams including fine-tuning, distillation and post-training of open-source LLMs.
• Establish context engineering, inference optimization and evaluation standards with release gates.
• Lead scalable LLM inference optimization and design reviews; prototype essential model code.
• Mentor and develop Principal, Staff and Senior engineers; advocate for AI engineering excellence.
• Represent Rapid7’s AI engineering to executives, customers and the community.
