Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking compassionate Early Years SEN Support Assistants to work in Greenwich mainstream primary schools. You will support children with additional needs to access learning, communicate, and build confidence, while collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and families.

Whether you are an experienced SEN/TA or have a childcare background, we want to hear from you. This temporary role offers flexible placement and ongoing safeguarding training through Protocol Education.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a school/educational/childcare or SEN setting.
• Experience supporting pupils with SEND or a genuine passion for this area.
• Patient, caring and resilient with a positive, proactive approach.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
• Adapt approach to meet individual needs of pupils.
• Passionate about creating an inclusive, supportive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with additional needs.
• Assist pupils with classroom activities to help them reach their potential.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and emotional development.
• Support positive behaviour through patience, consistency and encouragement.
• Help children develop independence, confidence and life skills.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and families for the best outcomes.
• Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every pupil feels supported.
• Celebrate achievements and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.
