Job summary

Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a Senior Practitioner to lead a new Intensive Service for women with complex needs at HMP Eastwood Park. You will supervise two staff, coordinate Mental Health Act transfers, and case-manage admissions and discharge back to prison.

The role requires robust clinical leadership, safeguarding oversight and collaboration with prison, hospital and community partners to improve women’s mental health outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered professional with substantial post-registration experience.
• Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and safeguarding.
• Skills in complex assessment, care planning, supervision and team management.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and supervision for the Intensive Service team.
• Coordinate Mental Health Act transfers to and from hospital.
• Case-manage women during admission and support safe remittance to prison.
• Shape pathways, governance and trauma-informed care within the team.
