Job summary

The British Red Cross Society in Scotland is seeking a proactive leader to guide a team delivering compassionate care and helping people regain independence after a crisis.

You will coordinate referrals with hospitals, GP surgeries and community teams, mentor staff and volunteers, and ensure safe living environments through risk assessments. The role offers flexible remote/hybrid working and a strong focus on development.

Qualifications

• SVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead and motivate others.
• Experience in person-centred planning and multi-disciplinary working.
• Confidence in mentoring staff and supporting their ongoing development.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating referrals and liaising with hospitals, GP surgeries, and community teams.
• Supporting and mentoring staff, students, and volunteers to deliver excellent care.
• Conducting risk assessments and welfare checks to ensure safe living environments.
• Managing rotas, responding to out-of-hours queries, and maintaining service continuity.
