Job summary

Sanctuary Personnel Limited is seeking a Senior Practitioner for the Duty and Assessment Team in Telford. This locum role offers 37 hours per week at £33.30 per hour, with an initial 3-month contract and potential extension.

You will manage a diverse caseload in Children’s Social Care, complete timely assessments, care planning, and interventions, and collaborate with multi-agency partners. Hybrid working is available, with professional development and flexible assignments.

Qualifications

• Qualified Social Worker/Senior Social Worker with registration and CPD commitment.
• Experience in Duty and Assessment, Referral and Assessment, Front Door, or safeguarding services.
• Strong experience in Child and Family Assessments, risk assessments, and safeguarding investigations.
• Ability to manage complex caseloads and make confident decisions under pressure.
• Senior Social Worker level considered if suitably experienced.

Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload, complete timely assessments, care planning and interventions.
• Respond to referrals and safeguarding concerns, assess risk and make evidence-based decisions.
• Undertake Child and Family Assessments and contribute to child protection processes and court work as needed.
• Build relationships with children, families and multi-agency partners for informed planning.
• Apply legislation, policy and best practice to deliver high-quality, child-centered services.
• Use professional judgement to identify interventions, review progress and adapt plans.
• Carry out preventative work with families to reduce risk and improve outcomes.
