Job Summary:
• We are seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner – Children in Need (CIN) to join a dynamic team on a hybrid working basis (2 days per week in the office).
• This is a senior-level role, more akin to that of an Assistant Team Manager, and is not suitable for Social Workers or Senior Social Workers.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex cases and supporting both the team and management in delivering high-quality services to children and families.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
• Hold and manage a small, complex allocation of children's cases.
• Provide reflective supervision to the Family Support Worker.
• Support the Team Manager in day-to-day responsibilities.
• Chair meetings and ensure timely statutory visits are completed.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records.
• Undertake life journey work with children as required.
• Communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to newer or less experienced staff members.
Skills/Experience:
• Must have direct experience working with Children in Need (CIN).
• Minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a permanent social work role.
• Proven ability to manage complex social work cases and decision-making.
• Experience of supervising staff and providing reflective supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team.
• Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
• HCPC/Social Work England registration required.
Additional Information:
• Candidate MUST HAVE Child in need experience.
• Hybrid role – 2 days/week from the office.
• Must have 3 years PQE in a permanent role.
