Overview

Senior Powerplant Engineer. Gloucester. £Competitive. Permanent. Oaklands Global is currently supporting an established aviation services provider seeking an experienced Senior Powerplant Engineer to join their Fleet Management Team. This technical role involves managing multiple commercial engine projects for airline and lessor clients, supporting the full engine lifecycle from planning and health monitoring to shop visit oversight and contract negotiation.

Responsibilities
  • Act as virtual powerplant manager for clients
  • Forecast maintenance costs and optimise engine removals
  • Manage engine shop visits (workscope, inspection, materials, post-visit review)
  • Monitor engine health (EHM/ECM)
  • Negotiate with OEMs/MROs and review engine contracts
  • Support engine transitions, inspections, and documentation
  • Mentor junior engineers and support business development
  • Represent the company at OEM technical conferences
Requirements
  • 10+ years’ experience in powerplant roles
  • Strong technical knowledge (CFM, P&W, GE, IAE, RR engines)
  • Commercial and financial acumen
  • Project management and MS Office proficiency
  • Strong communication skills
  • Degree preferred, airline experience a plus
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
