Job summary

ExxonMobil seeks a Power Trading Analyst to join the Global Trading Analytics team in London. You will deliver market analysis, modelling, and trading insights to support trading, structuring and origination across Europe.

The role requires a degree in a numeric field, experience in European power markets, and proficiency with data tools (R/Python/Matlab; Eikon/Bloomberg). You will work with multi-cultural teams in a dynamic trading environment and help optimize a pan-European portfolio.

Qualifications

• Be educated to Degree level (or equivalent) in a numeric discipline.
• Have previous experience in the European wholesale power industry or related consultancy experience.
• Be experienced in developing power price forecasts using stack modelling tools, within a trading or consultancy environment to inform trading strategies.
• Have experience in Europe power fundamentals analysis & advanced analytical methods, including numerical modelling and data analysis.
• Knowledge of data modelling; proficiency with R, Python or Matlab would be beneficial.
• Strong numerical, analytical and modelling skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to collaborate with internal and external customers.
• Familiarity with power dispatch/stack models and major data sources (Eikon, Bloomberg).
• Experience with multi-cultural global teams and languages is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide market expertise, fundamental analysis, and modelling to support power trading, structuring, and origination activities.
• Analyse ExxonMobil’s pan-European portfolio of sites and advise on trading strategies and asset optimization to create value.
• Develop and improve analytical tools and techniques for market insights and forecasting.
• Lead valuation and cash-flow modelling of potential projects and structured deals to support investment decisions in Power tenders.
