Job summary

A leading consultancy is seeking a Power Platform Developer to shape the technical roadmap and lead the delivery of innovative solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Power Apps and Dataverse, integrating with various systems, and driving Agile methodologies. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work closely with stakeholders and continuously improve service delivery through new technologies.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting Power Apps & Dataverse solutions.
  • Hands-on experience integrating with finance and HR systems via REST or OData APIs.
  • Ability to lead Agile ceremonies and mentor junior developers.

Job description

Responsibilities

  1. Shape and maintain the technical roadmap for Service Packs in line with the organisation's Digital Strategy and M365 optimisation plan.
  2. Establish and enforce Power Platform development standards, naming conventions, environment strategy, and ALM processes.
  3. Champion best practices, accessibility, and user-centered design across Digital & Customer Solutions to standards defined by the team.
  4. Lead the end-to-end delivery of model-driven and canvas Power Apps, custom connectors, Dataverse schema, and Azure integration components.
  5. Configure role-based security, data loss prevention (DLP) policies, and automated tests; manage DevOps release pipelines.
  6. Drive iterative, Agile delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
  7. Continuously review procedures, automate manual processes, and explore new Power Platform capabilities (e.g., Co-Pilot, AI Builder) to maximize value.
  8. Maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and knowledge base articles.
  9. Stay current with Microsoft roadmaps, attend relevant user groups, and maintain professional certifications.
  10. Build productive relationships with service leads, suppliers, and partner authorities; provide clear, jargon-free advice to senior stakeholders when required.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Review and develop structures, procedures, and working methods to ensure an integrated, effective, and efficient service delivery.
  2. Develop working practices that leverage new technology for efficient service delivery to residents.
  3. Provide timely and relevant advice and information to senior stakeholders.
  4. Handle matters requiring personal attention promptly.
  5. Establish and develop effective working relationships and partnerships across sectors such as education, health, social services, and voluntary organizations.

Additional Information

  • Hybrid working (up to two days per week at the office).
  • Typical decisions include selection of integration patterns, approval of pull requests, and backlog prioritization.
  • Error impact: incorrect data mapping could affect corporate KPIs; mitigated by automated tests and peer reviews.

Essential Criteria

  • Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and supporting Power Apps & Dataverse solutions.
  • Hands-on experience integrating with finance and HR systems via REST or OData APIs.
  • Proficiency in Power Fx, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET C#, T-SQL, DAX, and JSON.
  • Strong data modelling, ETL, and SQL performance tuning skills.
  • Ability to lead Agile ceremonies, mentor junior developers, and manage product backlogs.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, and documentation skills.
  • Confident communication skills, adapting vocabulary to the audience.
  • Active listening skills to understand user needs and tailor responses.

Desirable Criteria

  • Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400).
  • ITIL v4 Foundation and/or Agile (Scrum) certification.
  • Experience with Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, and DevOps pipelines.
