Job summary

Select Recruitment Specialists Ltd is assisting an ambitious engineering business in recruiting an experienced Business Development Manager to lead new business activity across the UK power, energy and infrastructure markets. This is a genuine hunting role with success measured by qualified opportunities, orders secured and profitable revenue delivered.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in B2B business development or sales.
• Ability to engage senior decision-makers and technical stakeholders.
• Commercially astute with a strong sales pipeline.
• Sector experience in high-voltage electrical engineering, power, renewables or infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new customers across transmission and distribution, DNOs, renewables, BESS, data centres and major infrastructure programmes.
• Build relationships with decision-makers across Tier 1 contractors, EPCs, OEMs, developers and engineering consultants.
• Develop opportunities ahead of formal tender, secure RFQs and convert these into contracted orders.
• Build structured account plans for strategically important customers.
• Own and maintain an accurate, credible sales pipeline through to contract award.
• Support Bid-No Bid decisions, tender strategy and commercial negotiation alongside the Commercial and Engineering teams.
• Report weekly on pipeline, order intake and market intelligence directly to the CEO and management team.
