Job summary

IONATE is seeking a Systems Team Lead in London to own the Systems Engineering lifecycle across hardware, software, power electronics and controls. You will define architecture, manage requirements, and lead verification and validation activities to deliver robust, customer‑ready HIT technology.

Reporting to the CTO, you will mentor the team, drive continuous improvement, and collaborate with an international, multidisciplinary group.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline and strong background in power/electrical systems.
• Significant experience leading systems engineering for complex electro‑mechanical or power electronic products.
• Familiarity with V‑Model, DFMEA and risk management techniques.
• Experience with requirements management and system architecture.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams across hardware, software and controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Systems Engineering lifecycle from concept to release using a structured V‑Model.
• Define and manage system requirements, architecture, interfaces and verification strategies.
• Coordinate multi‑project activities to ensure quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Develop and grow the Systems Engineering team and promote engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to translate needs into robust solutions.
• Lead DFMEA activities and drive robust design decisions.
