Job summary

NEC Software Solutions is seeking an experienced Data Analyst with strong Power BI development capability in the Greater London area. You will translate business requirements into robust reporting solutions, develop semantic models, and implement complex calculations across Power BI and SQL data sources.

The role emphasizes governance, QA, and secure data access within product‑oriented reporting. You will collaborate with stakeholders across product, engineering and data teams to deliver

Qualifications

• SC clearance or eligibility to obtain SC clearance.
• Strong Power BI experience: report development, data modelling, DAX, Power Query, and performance optimisation.
• Proven experience building enterprise Power BI datasets and semantic models.
• Advanced DAX with KPI development and time intelligence.
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases.
• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS) and managing secure access.
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality, lineage, and access control principles.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Build and enhance Power BI reports and dashboards per business requirements.
• Design, build, and maintain Power BI datasets and semantic models for enterprise use cases.
• Translate requirements into clear reporting logic and data definitions.
• Review datasets and create new datasets or semantic models as needed.
• Develop complex DAX measures, KPI calculations, and time intelligence.
• Use SQL to query relational databases and optimize queries for reporting.
• Ensure datasets are accessible with clear schemas and governance.
• Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) and manage access controls.
• Document data transformations, assumptions, and QA outcomes.
• Collaborate with product, engineering and data stakeholders for Power BI Embedded reporting.
