Job summary

AXIS Capital in London seeks a Senior Portfolio Pricing Actuary to lead end-to-end pricing for complex, multi-class portfolios. You will collaborate with underwriters, finance, and analytics to optimise structures, assess risk and drive portfolio performance.

You will influence pricing standards, mentor junior actuaries, and work within a hybrid model requiring three days in the office weekly. Strong actuarial background and leadership capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Fellow or Associate of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries or equivalent.
• Ability to explain complex actuarial analysis to non-technical audiences.
• Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across teams.
• Commercially minded with proactive, self-directed approach.

Responsibilities

• Own end to end pricing for complex, high value, multi class portfolio deals across product teams.
• Partner with underwriters to design and optimise portfolio structures and pricing.
• Deliver regular portfolio and product monitoring analyses and action plans with underwriting teams.
• Analyse rate changes, market conditions, and loss trends to explain drivers of performance.
• Maintain and enhance portfolio benchmarks and metrics in collaboration with analytics teams.
• Derive expected loss ratios for business planning considering strategy and reinsurance structures.
• Contribute to pricing standards, methodologies, and governance across portfolios.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to Portfolio Pricing Actuaries and Analysts.
• Take on additional duties relevant to the role as required.
