Job summary

Markel is seeking an experienced Portfolio Analytics lead in London to embed portfolio management as a core discipline and drive data-led pricing insights. You will collaborate with the International Portfolio Analytics team to deliver advanced analytics, pricing tools and dashboards to support underwriting strategy and decision making.

You will partner with underwriting leadership, challenge strategies with robust analysis, and evolve pricing capabilities across classes while tracking

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of the London Market with underwriting dynamics.
• Strong pricing and actuarial judgement to translate model outputs.
• Proficiency in Excel, SQL and Python for analytics and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead portfolio performance insights for the London division.
• Provide data-led pricing insights to support underwriting decisions.
• Develop pricing models and calibrate across classes.
• Collaborate with actuarial, underwriting, data/IT and delegated teams.
• Support quarterly business planning and governance with analytics.
