Job summary

Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) is seeking an experienced Senior Policy & Insights Manager to lead policy, horizon-scanning and external affairs. You will shape strategic positioning, provide evidence-based recommendations and manage relationships with regulators, government bodies and industry stakeholders.

The role requires strong leadership, messaging, and strategic thinking to influence decisions across the UK financial services landscape; experience in data-enabled insights

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading policy, regulatory affairs or public policy in a complex regulated environment.
• Strong understanding of UK financial services regulatory landscape and policy-making.
• Proven ability to analyse regulatory developments and advise on strategic implications.
• Experience developing policy positions, consultation responses and evidence-based recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Expertise in horizon scanning, strategic insight, foresight and risk identification.
• Strong stakeholder management with regulators, government bodies and industry groups.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent written, verbal and influencing skills; ability to communicate complex issues clearly.
• Proficiency in leveraging technology, automation, data and AI-enabled capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Policy development and delivery: lead the policy and insights programme and provide expert analysis on regulatory and policy developments.
• Horizon scanning, strategic insight and sense-making across political, regulatory, economic and market landscapes.
• Regulatory relations and external engagement: build relationships with regulators, government departments and industry bodies.
• Leadership and team management: provide strategic leadership to a multidisciplinary policy and public affairs team.
• Collaboration and organisational impact: ensure policy and insights inform strategic planning and risk management.
