Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Highly Specialised Podiatry Lead to oversee high-risk foot care across Doncaster. The role includes directing clinical care, leading a podiatry team and coordinating with MDTs to deliver advanced foot surgery and insoles for at-risk patients.

The successful candidate will drive service improvement, manage complex caseloads, and mentor junior staff within a diverse medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in varied settings across Doncaster.
• Provide quality care focusing on high-risk conditions, rotate into MDT foot ulcer team, nail surgery.
• Formulate and implement podiatry interventions, including lower limb MSK assessment, insoles provision for those at increased risk.
• Annual appraisal and personal development plan with mentorship and essential learning.
• Engage, involve and support staff to reach their full potential.
• Contribute in a senior role, influence service changes using innovative technology for patient health.
• Plan and manage complex and specialised caseloads with highly specialised treatment regimes.
• Assess, plan and provide high-quality podiatric care across diverse settings, especially specialist care.
• Provide professional lead in treatment plans to maintain mobility and independence, relieve discomfort for high-risk patients.
• Act as clinical lead overseeing Podiatrist and Podiatry Assistant.
• Adhere to department and Trust policies and participate in development as part of a senior team.
• Work in a multidisciplinary team and advise patients, carers, GPs and other professionals; maintain skills in Diabetes, Rheumatology, Biomechanics, wound management and CPD subjects.
• Work in hospital, podiatric surgery theatre, outpatient clinic, and minor surgery in day theatre when appropriate.
