Job summary

NHS Professionals, on behalf of Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, is seeking an Advanced Podiatrist to lead podiatry wound care services at Amersham Hospital. You will provide professional and clinical leadership for service development, planning and delivery across primary and secondary care, focusing on reducing acute interventions and improving mobility and wellbeing.

You will work with the Podiatry team to develop treatment plans, including off-loading strategies and preventative risk

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Podiatrist.
• Degree in Podiatry or equivalent.
• Experience in advanced podiatry including complex wound care.
• Able to work independently and manage high-risk patients.
• Evidence of ongoing CPD and participation in audits/service improvement.
• Car driver preferred; travel across the county may be required.

Responsibilities

• Independently triage referrals and determine appropriate care pathways, coordinating onward referrals when specialist input is required.
• Undertake comprehensive clinical assessments and apply advanced analytical skills to interpret complex clinical information for diagnoses and management plans.
• Manage a designated caseload, prioritising clinical needs and ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
• Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation in line with standards.
• Provide education and specialist advice to patients, relatives, carers and healthcare professionals.
• Contribute to service improvement through audits, training and clinical supervision.
