Job summary

Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking an experienced Specialist Podiatrist (Band 7) in Diabetes to join our Community Podiatry Service in Harrow. The post focuses on high-risk foot care, wound management and vascular assessment, delivering expert care across community, primary and acute settings.

Qualifications

• Podiatry professional degree qualification.
• Registration with Health Professions Council.
• Certificate in Local Anaesthesia.
• Evidence of post-grad Continued Development.
• Experience of service delivery in acute and community settings.
• Specialist study and training in Diabetes (SOCAP/COP/RCOP Diabetic Foot Module).
• Experience of working at Band 6 or above with high-risk diabetes caseload.
• Experience of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management for complex diabetic/high-risk foot conditions.
• Manage an autonomous specialist caseload with advanced clinical reasoning.
• Collaborate across community, primary and acute care to support pathways.
• Offer specialist advice to podiatry colleagues and MDT.
• Identify and escalate urgent cases to specialist services.
• Contribute to service development through audits and quality improvement.
• Supervise, mentor and develop junior podiatrists and students.
• Educate patients to understand their condition and participate in management.
• Maintain accurate records adhering to governance and policies.
