Job summary

Slough Borough Council's Corporate Resources Directorate is looking for a senior PMO/portfolio governance professional to drive the transformation agenda. The role provides governance, assurance and practical project management support across the Council's Transformation and Improvement portfolios.

You will coordinate corporate reporting and governance activity, maintain records, and help ensure submissions are complete and decision ready.

Responsibilities

• Be at the heart of a transforming Council. This is a key role within the Council's Corporate Programme Management Office (PMO), responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day operation and continued development of the PMO across the Council's Transformation and Improvement portfolios.
• Coordinate governance and portfolio reporting, maintain action and decision records, and ensure submissions are complete and decision ready; enable access to the project management framework, tools and guidance.
• Provide practical PMO advice to Project Managers, Service Leads and Sponsors; help strengthen plans, manage risks and dependencies, and support delivery health checks when needed.
• Aim to deliver a Corporate PMO that balances governance with practical support to improve delivery without adding unnecessary bureaucracy.
