Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead high‑voltage transmission steelwork projects across the UK. You will own portfolio delivery, manage senior client relationships, and line-manage a growing project team.

The role spans engineering, procurement, fabrication and on-site delivery with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and commercial performance. Ideal candidates bring a substantial track record in engineered environments, and the ability to drive continuous improvement,

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading complex, customer-facing projects or portfolios.
• Experience line-managing project management teams including remote/hybrid teams.
• Strong client and stakeholder management, governance and escalations.
• Practical understanding of contracts, change control, forecasting and commercial risk.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary delivery with safety, environmental, quality and compliance focus.
• Experience implementing business systems or operational process change.

Responsibilities

• Own portfolio delivery with accountability for safety, quality, programme, cost and outcomes.
• Lead senior client relationships as the main point of contact.
• Line-manage and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Coordinators.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, fabrication, logistics and site teams to meet milestones.
• Oversee project controls, notices, change control and cash/margin protection.
• Sponsor process improvements across goods-in, goods-out and ERP/MRP links.
• Support sustainability and continuous improvement within delivery.
