Job summary

TXP Technology x People is seeking an experienced Senior Test Automation Engineer to design and build a Playwright automation framework from the ground up. You will lead scalable UI and API test solutions, embed automation into CI/CD pipelines, and help Agile teams adopt modern quality engineering practices.

In this contract role based in Birmingham (Hybrid, onsite 1-2 days), you will mentor colleagues, produce clear technical documentation and drive automation standards across delivery teams.

Qualifications

Experience designing Playwright-based automation frameworks from scratch.
Strong TypeScript skills with scalable test design.
Solid understanding of test architecture and automation design patterns.

Responsibilities

Design and build a Playwright framework using TypeScript.
Develop maintainable UI and REST API automated test suites.
Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and establish automation standards.
Partner with Developers, QA, Product Owners and Delivery teams to support shift-left testing.
Produce technical documentation and mentor colleagues in automation best practices.
