Job summary

Scrumconnect Ltd, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom, is seeking a Test Engineer to help ensure quality across programmes. You will develop and maintain robust test automation in an agile environment, collaborating with developers, product owners and business analysts to clarify requirements and resolve issues.

The role also involves mentoring testers, and applying Playwright (mandatory) with technologies such as Node.js, Spring Boot, MongoDB, GitLab and AWS to drive CI/CD quality

Qualifications

• Strong testing background across full SDLC with manual and automated testing.
• Experience leading testing within an agile team.
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee testing across projects.
• Collaborates with developers, product owners, and analysts to ensure quality.
• Mentoring and knowledge sharing to elevate testing practices.
• Proactive self-starter, comfortable with remote work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain test plans, scripts, and reports.
• Create and evolve automated test scripts in CI/CD with Playwright.
• Verify software meets requirements and performance expectations.
• Document defects, identify risks, and drive issues to resolution.
• Review requirements and define test conditions across UI and APIs.
• Support CI/CD tooling and cloud platforms, including AWS.
• Mentor other testers and promote quality assurance best practices.
