Hydrogen Group is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to design and deliver the backend infrastructure powering risk analytics. You will build reliable APIs, cloud-based compute services and containerised workloads, coordinating with quantitative developers to productionise models.

The role offers hybrid work options across London, Liverpool or Glasgow, with opportunities to lead a small engineering team and contribute to architectural decisions and deployment pipelines.

Qualifications

• Production-quality Python applications.
• Experience building APIs and backend services.
• Cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python.
• Develop cloud-based compute services for scheduled and on-demand workloads.
• Manage job orchestration, queues and containerised services.
• Integrate portfolio data and calculation outputs with enterprise systems.
• Ensure monitoring, logging, security and error handling.
• Implement retry, recovery and fault-tolerance for calculations.
• Build deployment pipelines and automated tests.
• Collaborate with quantitative developers to productionise models.
• Contribute to architecture, standards and code reviews.
• Provide technical guidance across the team.
