Job summary

Finova is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer in Manchester to own multi-cloud infrastructure, automate delivery, and drive security-first engineering within a regulated fintech environment. You will champion Golden Paths, self-service tooling, and cost-aware observability.

You will mentor mid-level engineers, partner with Principal Engineers, and ensure scalable, highly available services across GCP/AWS/Azure, Buildkite and GitHub Actions pipelines, while maintaining a strong culture of

Qualifications

• Proven track record managing production workloads in GCP (essential).
• Terraform IaC design, modularity and strong automation experience.
• Hands-on experience with Buildkite and GitHub Actions to automate delivery.
• Security-first engineering in regulated fintech environments.
• Ability to work autonomously translating complex requirements into production-ready solutions.
• Define engineering standards and internal self-service tooling.
• Observability and cloud cost-optimization initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high-availability multi-cloud infrastructure across GCP/AWS/Azure using modular Terraform.
• Lead CI/CD enhancements across Buildkite and GitHub Actions to reduce lead times.
• Architect self-service tooling and clear documentation to establish standard Golden Paths.
• Embed security practices, IAM, secret management and compliance-as-code in pipelines.
• Drive platform observability and cost-optimization for scalable performance.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mid-level engineers.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineers to translate vision into production execution.
