Systematica Investments in London is seeking a hands-on Senior Platform Engineer to design, build and operate a hybrid production platform across AWS and on‑premises. You will own the HashiCorp stack (Vault, Consul, Nomad), implement automation-first approaches and treat infrastructure as software to support engineering and research teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS/Engineering/Cyber Security or related field is required or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on experience with production infrastructure in hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
• Strong Linux administration, networking and TLS/SSL knowledge.
• Proficient with Terraform and Ansible for IaC and deployment workflows.
• Experience with HashiCorp Vault, Consul and Nomad is highly desirable.
• Experience with AWS, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS) and container runtimes.
• Knowledge of monitoring (Grafana/Prometheus) and log tooling (Datadog, Loki).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, automate and operate the production platform across AWS and on‑premises infrastructure.
• Own, maintain and evolve the HashiCorp platform, including Vault, Consul, Nomad and integrations.
• Use Terraform to define and manage infrastructure resources, configuration and reusable modules.
• Use Ansible to support multi‑stage deployment workflows and repeatable operations.
• Build internal tooling to improve developer productivity and reduce operational overhead.
• Support and enhance CI/CD platforms and engineering workflows, including secure promotion of changes.
• Improve platform reliability, security, observability, performance and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with software engineers, quantitative developers, research teams, Technology Operations and security colleagues.
