Job summary

Systematica Group in London seeks a Platform Engineer to design, build and operate a hybrid production platform across AWS and on‑premises. You will focus on HashiCorp tooling (Nomad/Consul/Vault), treat infrastructure as software and promote automation‑first practices to improve developer experience, reliability and security.

The role requires strong judgement on platform changes, YAML/config management, and working with cross‑functional teams to deliver scalable platforms.

Qualifications

• Five+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE or related roles.
• Experience operating production infrastructure, hybrid cloud and on‑premises.
• Hands‑on with HashiCorp tools: Nomad, Consul, Vault.
• Strong Linux admin and networking knowledge (DNS, TLS, load balancing, firewalls).
• IaC experience using Terraform.
• Experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventories).
• Experience building automation/operational tooling (Python/Go/Bash).
• Experience with GitHub/CI/CD workflows and infrastructure change management.
• Hands‑on with AWS and cloud‑native infra; Kubernetes/Docker experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, automate and operate the production platform across AWS and on‑premises infra.
• Own, maintain and evolve the HashiCorp platform (Vault/Consul/Nomad) and integrations.
• Use Terraform to define resources, configurations and reusable modules.
• Use Ansible to support multi‑stage deployment workflows and config management.
• Build internal tooling to improve developer productivity and reduce operational overhead.
• Support and enhance CI/CD platforms and engineering workflows.
• Improve platform reliability, security, observability and performance.
• Collaborate with engineers, researchers and security to deliver scalable platforms.
