Job summary

Atos is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to design, deliver and operate enterprise platforms supporting major client transformation programmes. The role blends hands-on engineering with people leadership and customer engagement to ensure secure, scalable platform solutions aligned to business outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience delivering cloud and platform solutions within complex enterprise environments (Azure / AWS).
• Strong consulting and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience leading technical workshops and architecture discussions.
• Strong Azure expertise and cloud‑native engineering experience.
• Kubernetes, containerisation and modern platform engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD, automation and Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience operating within regulated, secure or mission‑critical environments.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Experience leading and developing engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of cloud and platform solutions for major client programmes.
• Build trusted relationships with client technical and delivery stakeholders.
• Act as the senior platform engineering representative in client meetings, workshops and governance forums.
• Provide technical leadership during discovery, architecture, mobilisation and delivery phases.
• Lead and mentor a team of platform engineers.
• Define platform standards, engineering patterns and operational best practices.
• Drive automation through Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ensure platforms are secure, resilient and compliant with client and regulatory requirements.
• Support solution development, estimates, bid responses and technical assurance activities.
• Collaborate with architects, engineering teams and programme leaders to resolve complex technical challenges.
• Act as the escalation point for critical platform and infrastructure issues.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation and operational excellence.
