Job summary

OneView Commerce is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the DevSecOps team, building and securing the platform used by all OneView products. You will own cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and the internal developer platform, with on-call incident response and cross-team collaboration.

You will work under the Sr. Director of Platform Engineering and contribute toward automation, security, and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps, cloud engineering, platform engineering, site reliability engineering, or IT operations, with production systems for enterprise customers.
• Has designed and built a backend service with a REST API, in TypeScript, Python, or a comparable language, and run it in production.
• Has written infrastructure as code modules, had them reviewed, and maintained them as requirements changed.
• Has built CI/CD pipelines covering build, test, and deployment, including automated policy checks that stop a change that fails a requirement.
• Can debug network problems such as DNS, TLS, load balancing, or routing.
• Can size infrastructure against a throughput and concurrency model with headroom.
• Has been on call for production and led initial incident response to root cause analysis.
• Has knowledge of cloud security such as least privilege, IAM, secrets handling, encryption, and WAFs.
• Has delivered evidence for audits or assessments and guided non-functional validation in pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the cloud infrastructure our platform runs on, taking backlog items to production with IaC.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and automate manual steps in the delivery lifecycle.
• Develop the internal developer platform (IDP) components as backlog items appear.
• Create monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and cost-tracking for services; warn before thresholds.
• Participate in on-call rotations and perform incident response and RCA.
• Test backup, archive, and disaster recovery by running restores and failovers.
• Maintain secure production and development environments per security policies.
• Provision, refresh, and deploy environments via repeatable automation.
• Maintain automated compliance and non-functional checks in pipelines and release gates.
• Collaborate with test automation on performance, resilience, security testing, and instrumentation.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to backlog prioritization with evidence.
