Job summary

Temporal is seeking a Senior Platform Architect in the United Kingdom to own production readiness and drive scalable patterns across customer environments. You will lead cross-functional coordination and ensure production success from deployment to runtime, shaping standards and enablement strategies.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software or solutions engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, workflow orchestration, and reliability principles.
• Proficiency in at least one modern language: Go, Java, TypeScript or Python.
• Experience building, deploying and operating production systems at scale.
• Ability to debug complex issues and guide customers to resolution.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and ability to train others.
• Experience creating runbooks and training materials.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer engagements.

Responsibilities

• Own production readiness and activation; act as primary technical owner from purchase to production.
• Run the customer's technical program with KPI-driven success plans.
• Define standards for patterns, governance, and operational readiness.
• Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.
• Proactively manage risk, migrations, and architectural debt.
• Maintain long-term technical health through reliability and observability.
• Drive adoption by translating production success into clear narratives.
