Job summary

Understanding Recruitment is partnering with an engineering-led technology company to recruit a Senior Platform Engineer. You will own and scale production infrastructure, improve observability, and streamline deployment workflows to empower a high-performing engineering team.

The role offers broad ownership across production platforms, security and internal tooling, with significant autonomy from day one and a strong focus on delivering reliable, high-performance systems.

Qualifications

• Experience operating production infrastructure in modern cloud environments.
• Background in Platform/SRE/Production/Infrastructure Engineering.
• Strong Linux systems knowledge and networking fundamentals.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation.
• Experience designing monitoring and alerting solutions for production systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting and root-cause analysis abilities.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve the production platform for reliability and scalability.
• Enhance observability with metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards and alerts.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows to enable safe, fast shipping.
• Develop internal tooling to reduce operational overhead.
• Drive automation and standardisation across the platform.
• Improve developer experience from local to production environments.
• Optimise Linux-based production environments and networking performance.
• Contribute to security, access controls and best practices.
• Identify bottlenecks and reliability risks before impacting the business.
• Help shape long-term platform strategy and engineering practices.
