Job summary

KLA invites applications for an Advanced Development role focusing on plasma etch and deposition technologies for a range of semiconductor applications. You will lead innovative hardware and process solutions, work with RF systems, gas delivery, and diagnostics, and collaborate across teams to shape next-generation KLA products.

You will interpret modelling tools, develop physical models, and engage with customers and researchers to align technology directions.

Qualifications

• PhD in Physics, Plasma Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Semiconductor Technology, Electronics or related discipline.
• Significant industrial or research experience in plasma processing, semiconductor equipment development, or advanced semiconductor manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of plasma etch and/or deposition technologies.
• Knowledge of RF power delivery systems, plasma sources, thermal management, vacuum systems, endpoint detection, and semiconductor equipment architecture

Responsibilities

• Lead development of plasma etch and deposition tech for Advanced Packaging, Photonics, Compound Semiconductor and MEMS.
• Solve complex process and hardware problems using first-principles, simulation, and data-driven analysis.
• Drive invention activities and contribute to IP strategy and disclosures.
• Lead investigations into process integration, plasma physics, and equipment performance.
• Guide junior engineers, lead technical reviews, and influence development priorities.
