Job summary

PhysicsX Ltd. in London seeks a Senior CFD Engineer – Plasma Specialist to translate plasma physics into high-fidelity models for semiconductor manufacturing, including etching, deposition, and surface processing.

You will work with Data Scientists, ML Engineers and customers, often on-site, to scope challenges, design modelling strategies, and deliver AI-powered workflows. Hybrid work with three days in Shoreditch.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in plasma physics applied to semiconductor manufacturing.
• Experience building high-fidelity computational models integrated into AI tools.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients on-site to define problems and present results.

Responsibilities

• Build and own computational plasma models for semiconductor processes (etching, deposition, surface interactions).
• Work directly with semiconductor customers on-site to scope challenges and design modelling strategies.
• Select and apply appropriate simulation tools and fidelity levels; validate outputs with data.
• Collaborate with PhysicsX Data Scientists and ML Engineers to integrate simulations into AI-powered workflows.
• Operate independently on highly specialised problems with minimal oversight.
• Travel globally (3–4 weeks/quarter) to work with customers on-site.
