Job summary

Andrews Recruitment Group in Bangor, North Wales, is seeking a Deputy Plant Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance across mobile and fixed plant. The role combines hands-on engineering leadership with site coordination, ensuring reliability across quarrying and construction environments.

You will supervise engineers and contractors, coordinate workloads, and help develop maintenance programmes while supporting budget control and cost-saving initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in plant maintenance or related heavy industrial environment.
• Strong practical understanding of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Experience with fixed processing/production plant and/or mobile heavy plant.
• Experience supervising teams and coordinating workloads.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate preventative and reactive maintenance across multiple sites.
• Supervise engineers, fitters, electricians and contractors.
• Coordinate workloads and maintenance priorities to minimise downtime.
• Support fault finding and breakdown response for mobile and fixed plant.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programmes.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports.
• Manage spare parts stock and liaise with suppliers for quotes.
• Support maintenance budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with risk assessments, safe systems of work and H&S requirements.
• Provide training and development for maintenance personnel.
