Job summary

Hemiko is recruiting a Senior Engineer (Plant) to work with the Technical Manager on delivering operation and maintenance services across our heat network fleet. The role emphasizes commercial gas experience and knowledge of non-gas plant such as pumps and valves, with opportunities to contribute to reliability and efficiency.

We value someone with at least 3 years in Plant rooms (>1MW) who is reliable, organized, and ready to work within our growing, supportive team.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience as a Commercial Plant Engineer or similar role.
• NVQ Level 2-3 in Gas or Plumbing.
• Knowledge of heat network energy centers and plantrooms.
• Ability to read technical drawings (P&IDs, mechanical schematics).
• Electrical competency (basic).
• Competence with safe isolation (mechanical and electrical).
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direct supervision of the Technical Manager.
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, and other plant.
• Repair and reinstate commercial plant and associated equipment.
• Fault finding and repairs on plant and pumps; resolve issues.
• Attend reactive call-outs and participate in an on-call rota (1 week in 4).
• Review root causes and manage site-based project scopes for plant remediation.
• Maintain safe isolation practices and ensure records are up to date.
