Job description

Our client, a Local Authority in Northern England, is seeking a Senior Planning Officer on a 6-month initial contract with potential for extension. The role involves working within the development management team to process and determine various planning applications, contributing to regional planning and development.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process and determine planning applications, including householder applications, minors, and small majors.
2. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with planning policies and regulations.
3. Conduct site visits and provide expert advice on planning matters.
4. Prepare reports and recommendations for planning committees.
5. Contribute to the development strategy for the region.

Job Requirements:

1. Experience in development management and town planning.
2. Knowledge of planning legislation and regulations.
3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
6. Experience with uniform and Idox systems is advantageous.

Salary: £37-40 per hour.
