Job summary

First Recruitment Group is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to drive programme certainty and schedule performance on major projects in Glasgow. The role focuses on developing, maintaining and reporting integrated project schedules, with strong emphasis on EVM, risk management and stakeholder engagement.

You will apply advanced schedule management techniques in a regulated environment, align schedules with financial and material planning, and support continuous improvement in planning practices

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in planning or project controls.
• Experience in regulated sectors (Nuclear, Defence, Infrastructure, Energy).
• Advanced Primavera P6 and MS Project skills.
• Full lifecycle project experience from bid to close-out.
• Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC and JCT contracts.
• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline.
• Professional accreditation such as APM, ACostE or RICS.
• Expert level in Schedule and Resource Management.
• Proficient in Independent Assurance, Governance & Quality arrangements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, baseline and maintain integrated project schedules (Levels 1-3) with Level 4-5 alignment.
• Produce and report schedule variance, forecasting and risk.
• Integrate supplier and subcontractor schedules into the overall programme.
• Conduct Schedule Risk Analysis and What-If scenario planning.
• Provide EVM data and maintain Estimates at Completion (EACs).
• Support planning governance and stakeholder engagement across projects.
