Job summary

Matchtech seeks Senior/Lead Planners to support a nuclear-sector client across Cumbria & Thurso. You will lead integrated scheduling, apply Earned Value Management and drive change control to ensure schedule performance and delivery assurance.

Role requires strong planning within regulated environments, with excellent stakeholder management and attention to detail. Travel to client sites and cross-program coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong project planning background in a regulated/safety-critical environment.
• Experience applying EVM to measure performance and forecast.
• Proven capability with change control and governance processes.
• Ability to build and maintain complex schedules and perform variance analysis.
• Excellent stakeholder management and clear communication, with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage integrated project schedules (baseline and live programmes).
• Produce planning updates, progress reporting, and schedule performance commentary.
• Apply EVM to measure performance, identify variances and support forecasting.
• Support critical path analysis, milestone tracking and lookaheads.
• Run and maintain change control (impacts, approvals, traceability, reporting).
• Identify schedule risks/opportunities and propose mitigations.
• Collaborate with project controls, engineering, commercial and delivery teams.
• Contribute to planning assurance, governance and continuous improvement.

Overview

We're supporting a nuclear-sector client with the hire of Senior/Lead Planners to work across major programmes, supporting projects aligned to DSRL and NWS. The role will include being on the client sites in Cumbria & Thurso The role focuses on integrated planning, Earned Value Management (EVM) and change control to drive schedule performance, governance and delivery assurance.

Responsibilities

Required Experience / Skills

• Strong project planning background within the nuclear sector (or similarly regulated/safety-critical environment)
• Practical experience with EVM and project controls reporting
• Proven capability with change control / governance processes
• Experience building and maintaining complex schedules and performance analysis
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• High attention to detail; confident working to structured processes and compliance standards

Desirable

• Experience supporting large, multi-workstream programmes and/or frameworks
• Familiarity with schedule risk, forecasting and planning assurance reviews
