Job summary

Gold Group in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Senior Planner or ambitious Planner to join our established contracting team. You will shape programmes across major construction and infrastructure projects, from tender through to delivery, with hybrid working in Glasgow.

The role requires a solid UK main contracting background, strong planning software skills (Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject), and the ability to collaborate with project teams to drive robust schedules and proactive risk

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Senior Planner / Senior Planning Engineer or capable Planner stepping up.
• Demonstrable UK main contracting experience is essential.
• Experience on major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, methodologies and techniques.
• Experience using Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject.
• Comfortable working across tender and live contract stages.
• Strong communication skills.

Job description

Title: Senior Planner / Planner
Location: Glasgow (hybrid)
Salary: £60-85,000 + package

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Planning Engineer, or an ambitious Planner looking to take the next step in their career, to join a leading UK contractor based in Glasgow.

Joining an established and highly experienced planning team, you'll have the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of major construction and infrastructure projects throughout Glasgow, the Central Belt and beyond. With a strong pipeline of upcoming work, the role offers excellent exposure to projects at both tender and contract stages, providing the opportunity to influence projects from the earliest stages of development through to successful delivery.

Working closely with project, commercial, design and operational teams, you'll play an important role in developing robust programmes, supporting tender submissions and subsequently managing programme performance during the construction phase. You'll be involved in construction sequencing, programme development, progress monitoring, risk and opportunity analysis, and providing planning advice to senior project stakeholders.

We're looking for candidates with proven UK main contracting experience and a strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies and techniques. You'll be confident developing and managing programmes, able to understand complex construction activities and translate them into realistic and achievable programmes. Strong planning software experience is essential, with knowledge of Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or similar platforms highly desirable.

Candidate Requirements

• Experience working on major construction and/or infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies and techniques.
• Good knowledge of construction planning principles
• Strong experience using recognised planning software such as Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject or similar.
• Comfortable working across both tender and live contract stages.
• Strong communication skills
