Job summary

Carter Jonas is seeking a motivated Planner / Senior Planner to support delivery of major infrastructure projects and help clients navigate the planning process to secure consents.

You will work within our multidisciplinary Consents team, collaborating across NSIPs, DCOs, TWAOs and TCPA regimes while developing your professional expertise in a dynamic UK environment. Flexible and agile working is available.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering town planning and consenting strategies for major infrastructure projects.
• Experience preparing planning applications, reports and supporting documentation.
• Good understanding of the UK planning system and Town and Country Planning Act.
• Strong organisational, project management and communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.
• Membership of RTPI is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of town planning and consenting strategies for major infrastructure projects across the UK.
• Prepare, review and submit consent applications including DCOs, TWAOs, Section 36 and TCPA applications.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to align with programme requirements.
• Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, consultees and regulatory bodies.
• Assist with project management activities, including programme management and risk reporting.
• Aid public consultation and stakeholder engagement for infrastructure and renewable energy projects.
• Provide planning and consenting advice across infrastructure sectors.
• Prepare planning reports, consent documentation, evidence submissions and examinations.
• Contribute to business development and long-term client relationships.
