Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Planner to lead complex project controls for major programmes in the UK. You will manage baselines, run workshops, support Planning/Project Controls Managers, and ensure contract requirements are met.

The role includes advanced reporting such as Earned Value Management, schedule-cost-risk integration, and critical path analysis to drive improvements. NEC contract experience and PM credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction management, or related field.
• Senior Planner with experience in transportation, energy, defence, water and rail; strong NEC contracts knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement across diverse groups.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organisational and time-management skills.
• Engineering graduate with PM certification (e.g., PMP, PMI-SP).
• Experience in construction or engineering; advanced PM methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Maintain baselines to support contractual and performance metrics.
• Lead meetings/workshops to challenge progress and performance of projects.
• Support Planning/Project Controls Managers to maintain schedules and interfaces.
• Manage contract requirements for schedules.
• Provide advanced hierarchical reporting outputs such as EVM.
• Integrate schedule, cost and risk across functions.
• Provide critical path evaluation and scenario planning to mitigate issues.
