Job summary

AmcoGiffen is seeking a Senior Planner (P6) to lead integrated project programmes for civil engineering and infrastructure across the North West from Warrington. You will support delivery across multiple projects, coordinating with project teams, commercial leads and clients to ensure safe, efficient and on‑programme performance.

The role focuses on developing, managing and maintaining detailed schedules using Primavera P6, with strong emphasis on earning value, risk mitigation and robust

Qualifications

• Proven experience in planning civil engineering/infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 scheduling and project controls.
• Experience with EVA, risk/opportunity management, procurement and resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and manage integrated project programmes using Primavera P6.
• Monitor progress, analyse performance and identify trends and risks to delivery.
• Apply proactive mitigation strategies to meet project objectives.
• Provide project controls support including EVA, risk management, procurement and resource planning.
• Produce regular progress reports and programme updates for teams and clients.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercials and clients.
• Support tender planning and programme development where required.

Location: Warrington (supporting projects across the North West & Central region)

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Senior Planner (P6) to join our established and growing business, supporting the successful delivery of complex civil engineering and infrastructure projects across the North West.

Working across a diverse and active portfolio including rail and non-rail frameworks this role offers the opportunity to influence project success at both strategic and delivery levels, working closely with operational teams and key stakeholders across the region.

About The Opportunity

Based from Warrington, you will play a key role in developing, managing, and maintaining integrated project programmes that support effective planning, control, and delivery across multiple projects.

You will be part of a collaborative and well-established planning function, working alongside project teams, commercial leads, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme and performance expectations.

As the business continues to grow across the North West, this is a critical role in strengthening planning capability, driving best practice, and enhancing project controls across a varied and challenging project environment.

The Role

As Senior Planner, you will provide robust planning and project controls support throughout the full project lifecycle—from tender stage through to delivery and completion.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Developing, maintaining, and managing detailed integrated project programmes using Primavera P6
• Monitoring progress, analysing performance, and identifying trends and risks to delivery
• Applying proactive mitigation strategies to ensure project objectives are achieved
• Providing project controls support including:
• Earned Value Analysis (EVA)
• Risk and opportunity management
• Procurement and resource planning
• Change management and programme impact assessment
• Producing regular progress reports and programme updates for internal teams and clients
• Collaborating closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, and clients
• Supporting tender planning and programme development where required
