Job summary

Kier Group in Aldershot is seeking a Senior Planner to lead the programme for a circa £240m Defence Infrastructure Organisation project at Keogh Barracks. You will work with the project team from Pre-Construction through Construction and Handover to Q3 2030, coordinating 17 assets and related works.

The role requires main-contractor planning experience, a track record on tenders and live projects (£5m–£100m+), and proficiency with Asta Powerproject and Bluebeam.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction planning within main contractor environments.
• History of working on tenders and live projects £5m–£100m+.
• Proficiency in Asta Powerproject and Bluebeam (or similar).
• Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contract conditions and their impact on planning.
• CSCS accreditation and willingness to undergo HMG security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Produce integrated and resourced programmes covering design, commercial, and construction elements.
• Develop and monitor tender event schedules, site logistics, and temporary works.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors and review their programmes for contract compliance.
• Forecast scenarios, develop mitigations, and support the project team.
• Prepare monthly client progress reports and lead planning forums.

We're looking for a Senior Planner to join our Keogh Barracks team based in Aldershot.

Location: Keogh Barracks, Ash Vale, Aldershot
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.

We're recruiting for a site-based Senior Planner to join our exciting circa £240m project for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation at Keogh Barracks in Aldershot. You'll work with our established project team throughout the Pre Construction Phase and Construction/Handover Phase through to Q3 2030. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on overall programme development and monitoring for a significant project spanning 17 new build and refurbishment assets with associated external and infrastructure works.

What will you be responsible for?

As a Senior Planner, you'll be working within the Southern planning team, supporting them in delivering comprehensive programme management for this major infrastructure project. Your day to day will include:

• Producing fully integrated and resourced programmes incorporating all disciplines, including design, commercial, and construction elements
• Developing and monitoring tender event schedules, site logistics, and temporary work schedules
• Liaising with sub-contractors and reviewing their programmes for compliance with contract conditions
• Forecasting programme scenarios, developing mitigation strategies, and providing planning support to the project team
• Producing monthly client progress reports and driving collaborative planning forums

What are we looking for?

This role of Senior Planner is great for you if:

• You have construction planning experience gained within the main contractor environment
• You have a solid history of working on build tenders and live projects between £5M - £100M+ in value
• You're an experienced user of Asta Powerproject software and Bluebeam (or similar)
• You have strong knowledge of JCT and NEC contract conditions and how this affects planning
• You hold valid CSCS accreditation and are willing to undertake HMG security clearance
