Job summary

Hunter Philips is supporting a leading global OEM in the appointment of a Senior Planning Engineer to join its growing UK Planning & Project Controls function. This role leads the Integrated Master Schedule across major high-voltage offshore and onshore projects, coordinating with engineering, procurement, construction and vendors to drive successful delivery.

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years' experience in project planning, scheduling or project controls.
• Experience in energy, power, high voltage, EPC or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, scheduling, Earned Value Management and resource management.
• Experience leading planning/project controls professionals.
• Willingness to travel to UK project sites.

• Own, develop and maintain the Integrated Master Project Schedule across major high-voltage projects.
• Lead planning and scheduling activities ensuring alignment with engineering, procurement, construction and delivery.
• Establish and maintain planning governance, standards and procedures.
• Undertake critical path analysis, forecasting and scenario planning.
• Monitor progress, milestones and performance, and implement corrective actions.
• Lead and support a team of planning professionals.

• Provide clear reporting and schedule insight for senior decision making.

Hunter Philips is supporting a leading global OEM in the appointment of a Senior Planning Engineer to join its growing UK Planning & Project Controls function.

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of major high-voltage offshore and onshore energy infrastructure projects, including a high-profile programme spanning offshore platform and onshore substation infrastructure.

The successful candidate will take ownership of the Integrated Master Schedule, lead planning and scheduling activities across the programme, and work closely with engineering, project management, vendors and subcontractors to drive successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Own, develop and maintain the Integrated Master Project Schedule across major high-voltage projects.


• Lead planning and scheduling activities, ensuring alignment across engineering, procurement, construction and project delivery.


• Establish and maintain effective planning governance, standards and procedures across the project team.


• Undertake critical path analysis, forecasting and scenario planning to identify potential schedule impacts and optimise delivery.


• Monitor project progress, milestones and performance, identifying deviations and implementing corrective actions.


• Lead and support a team of planning and scheduling professionals.


• Identify and manage schedule, resource and project risks, developing appropriate mitigation strategies.


• Work closely with senior stakeholders, project teams, vendors and subcontractors to ensure alignment with the master programme.


• Provide clear project reporting and schedule insight to support senior-level decision making.

What We're Looking For

• 8–10+ years' experience within project planning, scheduling or project controls.


• Experience gained within energy, power, high voltage, engineering, EPC or major infrastructure projects.


• Strong knowledge of Primavera P6, scheduling, Earned Value Management and resource management.


• Demonstrable experience managing or leading planning/project controls professionals.


• Strong understanding of complex project lifecycles and integrated scheduling.


• Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.


• PMP certification or an equivalent project management qualification would be advantageous.


• Full UK Driving Licence.


• Ability to travel to UK project sites when required.
