Wehave an opportunity for a skilled, enthusiastic clinician who enjoys workingwith children in an integrated multidisciplinary team. As a band 6 Paediatricrotational physiotherapist you will gain experience in various specialistareas including acute respiratory, neurology, neurosurgery, neuromuscular,neonatology, oncology, orthopaedics, musculoskeletal, cystic fibrosis,primary ciliary dyskinesia, surgery, nephrology and hepatology.
Thepost holder will work along side the band 7 team providing a service to theabove areas and helping develop the physiotherapy service across the trust.Children may be managed on the wards, intensive care units, neonatal units,specialist clinics, in the out patient department and in the community.
Thepost holder will work closely with the multidisciplinary team includingmedical staff, nursing staff, occupational therapists, speech therapists,play therapists, dieticians and psychologists. They will also be encouragedto liaise with other agencies that support children and their families.

Thechildrens physiotherapy team is a team of approximately 40 physiotherapistsand physiotherapy assistants who work across Leeds Childrens Hospital. Theyhave a wide scope of experience and enjoy developing and teaching new membersof the team. The team is based on the Leeds General Infirmary site but alsocovers the Neonatal Unit at St James Hospital. Transport is available to movebetween sites for staff.

JOBPURPOSE
To perform physiotherapeuticassessment of paediatric patients with diverse presentations and complexphysical and psychological conditions, to provide a diagnosis and develop anddeliver an individualised treatment programme.
He/She will participate in the Band6 paediatric rotational scheme which involves working across a range ofsettings.
To be responsible for their owncontinuing professional and personal development.
To participate in the PaediatricOut of Hours service
JOBDIMENSIONS
To hold responsibility for own caseload and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particularpatient type, working without direct supervision. Access to advice and support from a seniorphysiotherapists is available if required, clinical work is not routinelyevaluated.
To undertake all aspects ofclinical duties as an autonomous practitioner within this specialist field.
